Letter Carrier Brandon Franklin was quick on his feet — literally — when he recently encountered a traffic emergency while delivering mail in West Bloomfield, MI.
Franklin was driving on a busy road when he noticed a car moving erratically.
When he attempted to pass the vehicle, he saw that the driver was slumped over the center console, apparently unconscious.
The Postal Service employee turned on his hazard lights and pulled over, then sprinted to reach the runaway car, which he was able to safely access and bring to a stop.
“I was like Usain Bolt,” the fleet-footed Franklin told the local NBC station.
The driver was hospitalized and was expected to recover from the incident.
