Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.57 percent during the week ending Dec. 29, up from one week earlier.
Eastern (97.74 percent) topped the districts, while Dakotas (98.81 percent) led the areas.
Scanning allows customers to track their packages and mail. It also helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

Annual report. USPS delivered 149 billion mailpieces and recorded more than $69 billion in annual revenue during fiscal 2017, the organization states in its recently released Annual Report to Congress.
The 27-page report provides financial information, operational statistics and performance data for the year, which ended Sept. 30. The report also outlines business strategies for fiscal 2018.
