Custom-made honor. Charles Wiggins recently received a gift most sports fans can only dream of: an NFL jersey made just for him.
Wiggins, a 100-year-old World War II veteran and former postal employee, was honored by the Pittsburgh Steelers this month as part of the team’s salute to service members.
Coach Mike Tomlin was joined by several players, including Army veteran Alejandro Villanueva, in presenting Wiggins with the jersey, which bears his name and the number 100.
“If I live another 100 years, I’ll never forget it,” Wiggins told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Handle with care. The Postal Bulletin’s latest edition highlights Hazmat Awareness Month, which USPS observes to emphasize the procedures for the identification, handling and delivery of hazardous materials.
The cover story reminds employees that nonmailable hazardous materials can pose a safety threat when they enter the mailstream.
The Nov. 23 issue also includes revisions to the International Mail Manual: Indemnity Limits for International Registered Mail Service and Handbook AS-353: Privacy Act Requests and Freedom of Information Act Requests.
