It’s your move. USPS employees who seek authorized relocation expenses from Nov. 20-Dec. 31 will not receive disbursements or reimbursements until Jan. 2.
The Postal Service has set Nov. 22 as the expense cut-off date for 2017 relocation expenses.
Relocation expense reimbursement requests must be emailed to customer.usgovt@bgrs.com, faxed to 866-629-1563 or mailed to: Brookfield Global Relocation Services, 16260 North 71st Street, Suite 200, MS 240G, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
Employees who have moved should contact Human Resources to file a change-of-address request. Failure to do so may result in a financial tax burden that cannot be corrected after W-2s or summary tax reports have been sent.
Teach them young. Pre-K students from the Yinghua International School in Kingston, NJ, recently visited the Kingston Post Office to learn about the mail.
“They were learning about community helpers in school, so we talked to them about how we deliver mail and assist people in mailing letters and packages, buying stamps and obtaining passports,” said Postmaster Richard Micallef.
The Yinghua students later made thank-you cards for Kingston employees featuring each child’s handprint.
“I put it right in the window,” said Micallef. “It’s a nice conversation piece. When the kids come to the Post Office or their parents, they can see their work.”
