The Postal Service is encouraging employees to conduct a cybersecurity checkup during National Cyber Security Awareness Month in October.
The annual observance provides USPS employees with an opportunity to learn how to protect the postal network and themselves against potential online threats.
For instance, the CyberSafe at USPS team is offering these security tips:
• Protect your workstation: Always lock your computer when not in use and secure sensitive documents.
• Protect your data: Create strong passwords using a combination of 15 or more letters, numbers and special characters.
• Complete training courses: All mandatory cyber training should be completed on time.
• Stay vigilant: Report suspicious emails to cybersafe@usps.gov.

Throughout National Cyber Security Awareness Month, employees who diligently keep the postal network safe can be nominated for special recognition.
Submit names and a brief note describing how the person demonstrates excellent cybersecurity behaviors to CyberSafeComms@usps.gov.
