Atlanta District recently introduced Summer of Safety, a campaign that promotes safe work practices.
“The idea is to put safety at the forefront of what we do,” said Atlanta District Acting Manager Sam Jaudon.
The district has several safety-related activities planned during the summer, including meetings with safety captains, driver safety training and “safety blitzes” that identify and fix problems.
“We want to find it, fix it and recognize employees who are doing an awesome job regarding safety,” Jaudon said.
Atlanta District’s efforts dovetail with the Postal Service’s ongoing workplace safety programs, including the national Safety Depends on Me videos.
Monica Bage, the district’s acting safety manager, said she’s glad USPS takes safety seriously.
“We care about our employees and we want them to go home safely every day,” she said.
