The Postal Service has issued a new Nativity stamp featuring an image of the holy family silhouetted against a dawn sky.
The stamp shows the baby Jesus in a straw-filled manger in the center, while Mary kneels to the right and Joseph stands to the left, holding a lantern. A bright star shines on the trio.
“There are no greater traditions than those of the holidays, and the Postal Service is happy to help you celebrate and honor your traditions,” said Corporate Communications VP Janice Walker, who dedicated the stamp Nov. 3 at St. John’s Church in Washington, DC.
Other participants at the ceremony included Shipping Solutions Manager John Samuels III; Louis Giuliano, formerly a member of USPS Board of Governors; the Rev. Dr. Luis León, St. John’s Church rector; and Adamio Charles Boddie, a Washington, DC, pastor.
Other holiday stamp offerings from the Postal Service this year include Holiday Windows, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Florentine Mother and Child and Hanukkah.
The Nativity stamp is available in booklets of 20 at Post Offices and usps.com. The Nov. 3 news release has more information.
