The final snowstorm last winter in Spencerport, NY, was no match for the Postal Service, but it posed quite a problem for a disabled customer. While giving his service dog a break outside, the man became stranded when he fell and lost his cane in the 18-inch accumulation of snow. No one responded to his cries for help or his dog’s barking until Letter Carrier James Bigham came by and helped him get inside. The customer later contacted the Spencerport Postmaster to thank Bigham for his life-saving actions.
