Customer Services Manager Shane McLaughlin was recently helping a supervisor at a Post Office in the Omaha, NE, area resolve an issue when a life-threatening problem arose: A rural carrier in the building was choking.
McLaughlin called 911 and performed the Heimlich maneuver until the obstructing food item was dislodged.
The rural carrier recovered.
“We are sincerely thankful that Shane acted quickly to save a fellow employee’s life,” said Omaha Postmaster Keith Reid.
