About 25 Girl Scouts visited the Brockton, MA, Post Office last week to mail letters to PMG Megan Brennan. The notes congratulated her on becoming the first woman Postmaster General.

“Girl Scouts of America empower young women and help build courage, confidence and character. What better role model to write a letter to than the first female Postmaster General,” said Officer in Charge Linda Kennedy.

The Post Office provided the scouts with stationery and light refreshments. The girls also received a tour of the Post Office and earned a “business owner” patch for their efforts.

The Southeastern Postal Customer Council also participated in the event, which was part of National Card and Letter Writing Month.
