The Postal Service celebrated African-American History Month last week at a series of events featuring the new Robert Robinson Taylor stamp:
- DPMG Ron Stroman discussed Taylor, a pioneering architect and educator, at a meeting of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History in Washington, DC.
- Alabama District hosted Judicial Officer William Campbell at a special stamp dedication at Tuskegee University, where Taylor spent much of his career.
- In New York, Jamaica Postmaster John Lunghi addressed the Eagle Academy for Young Men and praised Taylor for “expanding opportunities for African-Americans in fields that had largely been closed to them.”
- In Florida, Palms Central Customer Services Manager Pablo Estupinan addressed an audience of 200 at an African-American History Month celebration in West Palm Beach.
The stamp can be purchased online and at Post Offices nationwide.
