Rome, OH, Retail Associate Marcus Pierson heard a loud bang recently and discovered a man lying on the Post Office lobby’s floor.
Pierson called 911, talked to the man and stayed with him until paramedics arrived.
He also contacted the man’s wife to tell her about her husband and let her know their dog was stranded in the man’s car.
After being resuscitated, the customer was taken to a hospital and is now recovering. The dog is also doing OK.
“Marcus takes his duties and position with USPS very seriously every day,” said Postmaster Mari Beth Kirkland. “He is an inspiring young man and an outstanding employee.”
