The Postal Service has released a video about its latest semipostal stamp, Know the Facts About Fentanyl.
Semipostal stamps are priced higher than the standard 1-ounce letter rate to raise money for worthy causes. The current price of a semipostal is $1.
Net proceeds from the stamp will go to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, which conducts research on substance abuse and addiction treatment.
Antonio Alcalá, an art director for USPS, designed the stamp featuring an illustration by Whitney Sherman.
The 3-minute video is narrated by Peter Pastre, the Postal Service’s Government Relations and Public Policy vice president.
It also features Cheri Oz, assistant administrator of the diversion control division at the Drug Enforcement Administration; Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, director of the National Institutes of Health; and Dr. Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
The stamp is available in sheets of 20 at Post Offices and on usps.com.
