Carrier Technician James Jarm was delivering mail in Albuquerque, NM, recently when he saw flames on the next block.
He went to the street and found a house, bushes and a car engulfed in flames from a brush fire.
After Jarm called 911, he found the homeowner — who had been spraying the house with a garden hose — passed out with burns on his arms.
The Postal Service employee and a neighbor pulled the man away the area and stayed with him until paramedics and firefighters arrived.
Jarm experienced heat burns and eye irritation from the smoke.
Both Jarm and the customer have since recovered.
