Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas recently got a boost from Don Kravos and board members of the Nevada Postal Customer Council.

Kravos, the Nevada-Utah District manager, led a team of USPS employees and industry leaders during the Runnin’ for the House 5K Run and 1M Fun Walk benefitting families with hospitalized children.

“Serving our community is about the commitment we bring, the initiative we take and the relationships we build. When we lead with purpose and take action, we can make a meaningful difference. It’s all about the customer,” said David James, a customer relations manager and the council’s postal co-chair.

The event raised a record-setting $103,390.

Seaside community says farewell

The Sea Girt, NJ, community recently wished Retail Associate Kathy Kellers a happy retirement after nearly 40 years with the Postal Service.

“I’m going to miss the people,” Kellers told The Coast Star newspaper. “The customers, my co-workers — I’m just going to miss the people.”

Kellers began her career in 1987 as a letter carrier in Toms River before becoming a supervisor and then postmaster of Sea Girt. After taking time off to raise a family, Kellers returned to the Sea Girt Post Office as a retail associate.

According to her son, Timothy, Kellers will be remembered for her service, kindness and commitment to the Jersey Shore borough.

Timothy said she is looking forward to spending time with family in retirement, especially with her grandson.
