Managers reminded about separation procedure

The Postal Service is reminding managers that they must follow the organization’s information security procedure when an employee leaves USPS.

Managers are required to:

• Collect the departing employee’s badge, access card, keys and USPS-issued laptop and mobile devices;

• Notify the Human Resources Shared Service Center or district human resources within one day of an employee’s departure;

• Suspend the separated employee in eAccess within one day of departure to revoke their access to USPS systems; and

• Complete all required documentation confirming that system access has been revoked and all USPS-issued property has been returned. The Separations Overview page on MyHR and the Employee Management Tool have more information.
