The Postal Service has established Central Processing Region, comprised of the Central, Lakeshores, Northern Plains, Midwest and Westshores divisions.
The new processing region will include 100 facilities and 34,600 employees who process 177 million mailpieces every day.
Todd Hawkins, previously Eastern Processing Region’s vice president, will serve as Central Processing Region’s vice president.
Dave Webster, Chesapeake Division’s processing operations senior director, will serve as Eastern Processing Region’s acting vice president.
Under the changes, announced July 9, Eastern will be comprised of six divisions (Chesapeake, Florida, New England, New York Metro, South Atlantic and Southeast), while Western will be comprised of six (Gulf South, Northwest, Pacific Coastal, Southern California, Texas and Western).
