The Postal Service offers several resources for employees who have made professional development one of their goals this year.
Some options include:
• The Learning Library, an online platform that offers more than 120,000 self-development resources, including videos, books, audiobooks, certification preparation tools and textbooks.
The content is designed to offer a structured path for employees’ personal growth and help them enhance their skills, build confidence and gain insights into their strengths and opportunities for development.
Topics include leadership development, software development, customer services, project management, diversity and inclusion, and more.
• Center for Creative Leadership courses, which are offered to nonbargaining employees who are looking to develop their leadership skills.
Course offerings include both moderated and self-paced options. Nonbargaining employees are encouraged to have a career conversation with their manager and explore which course is best for their development.
If interested, employees should submit a self-nomination form before the Friday, Jan. 31, deadline.
• Career conferences, which USPS will hold in more than 50 locations nationwide from May through August this year.
The conferences include networking opportunities with local postal leaders and interactive sessions that are designed to equip participants with the tools and resources to take the next step in their professional development.
Career conferences are open to all employees, while off the clock. Dates and locations for this year’s events will be announced soon.
• Virtual supervisor job fairs, which are held four times a year.
These fairs show participants what to expect in a supervisor position, showcase career paths and explain how to apply for openings.
Attendees also learn how to take charge of their personal development and use USPS resources to reach their goals.
This year’s fairs will be held Sunday, Feb. 2; Monday, March 3; Sunday, April 6; and Sunday, Sept. 7. Registration is now open.
• The Centralized Funding for Development Scholarship, which is designed to financially support nonbargaining employees who seek to enroll in training, individual college courses, degree programs or professional certification programs.
The current application window is Jan. 1-31. Funds awarded during this cycle are for use between April 1 and Sept. 30.

• Tuition discounts, which several colleges and universities offer Postal Service employees.
Most of these institutions offer undergraduate and graduate programs that can be completed online. In most cases, discounts are also available to USPS employees’ immediate family members.
“The Postal Service wants to help every employee achieve their career and development goals,” said Jenny Utterback, organization development vice president. “We encourage everyone to explore their options and learn how they can contribute to the organization’s continued success under the Delivering for America plan.”
