A new video chronicles the life of a baseball giant

Hank Aaron paved the way for future generations

The Postal Service has released a video about its new Hank Aaron stamp.

The Forever stamp pays tribute to Aaron, who spent 21 years as a member of the Braves organization — first in Milwaukee, where he led the team to the 1957 World Series title — then later in Atlanta, where he hit home run No. 715 on April 8, 1974, breaking Babe Ruth’s seemingly unattainable record.

The six-minute video features Thomas Marshall, the Postal Service’s general counsel, who spoke at the July 31 dedication ceremony for the stamp; Andrew Young, former mayor of Atlanta and Aaron’s friend; and Sheffield Hale, president and CEO of the Atlanta History center.
