Letter Carrier Juan “Gabe” Gonzales was making deliveries recently in Schertz, TX, when he was approached by a police officer looking for a suspected package thief.
After sharing a description of the suspect, the officer gave Gonzales his card and encouraged him to call 911 if he spotted the man.
Two hours later, the carrier saw the suspect walking across a baseball field. Gonzales reported the man’s location, and within minutes, the suspect was apprehended.
The Schertz Police Department later presented Gonzales with a challenge coin for his help.
“This is a perfect example of how we work together as a community,” Chief Jim Lowery said.
