Carrier Technician Vijean Manivasan jumped into action on a recent morning at the Panorama Post Office in Rochester, NY.
He witnessed an older customer in her car pull into the facility’s parking lot. As the woman opened the vehicle’s door to get out, she fell out of her seat, hitting the ground.
As Manivasan rushed to help the woman, the vehicle — which was not in park — started to roll. He caught up to the car and gained control, bringing it to a stop.
Local Postmaster Derek Spencer credited the Postal Service employee with preventing injuries and damage.
The woman, who recovered from the incident, thanked Manivasan for his assistance.
