When Hudson, FL, Letter Carrier Shelly Martin got ready to leave for the day, Postmaster Margaret “Peggy” Findley observed that she looked a little peaked.
Findley asked Martin if she was OK. The carrier said she felt unwell and was experiencing pain.
Without hesitation, Findley drove Martin to an emergency room while Angela Feldman, acting customer services manager, alerted Martin’s family.
Martin was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition and scheduled for surgery the next day.
The carrier said she is extremely grateful for Findley’s quick thinking and Feldman’s assist.
