DeJoy meets employees in MN, IA

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy addresses employees in Bloomington, MN.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy updated employees on the Postal Service’s progress under the Delivering for America plan during a visit to the Midwest in late July.

DeJoy met with employees in Bloomington, MN, and Des Moines, IA. At each stop, he said USPS is becoming a high-performing organization aligned around achievable goals and accountability.

The postmaster general cited the organization’s improved financial and service performance; efforts to modernize the USPS delivery and processing network; the introduction of products such as USPS Ground Advantage; and efforts to stabilize the postal network through the conversion of precareer workers to full-time employees.

“Through the Delivering for America plan, the Postal Service is becoming a more capable, sustainable and effective organization. I was pleased to meet with our employees in Minnesota and Iowa and thank them for their service to our organization and customers,” DeJoy said.

In addition to the Delivering for America updates, DeJoy also swore in new postmasters during his visits and recognized David Hendrickson, a custodian at South Des Moines Station, to mark his 50 years with USPS.
