Jonathan Thompson, a tractor-trailer operator in Garden City, NY, was recently on duty when he saw an alarming sight:
Two little girls were standing in the middle of a busy highway.
Thompson stopped and guided the pair — identically dressed twins around the age of 4 — out of harm’s way.
Once they reached the roadside, the Postal Service employee called 911 and remained on the scene until emergency responders arrived.
Authorities opened an investigation after determining that the children had been left unattended by caregivers.
