City Carrier Assistant Dylan Diaz was recently making deliveries at an apartment complex in Clovis, CA, when a sobbing preschooler ran up to him and clutched his uniform.
The distraught little girl told Diaz she couldn’t remember where she lived or where her parents were.
The Postal Service employee calmed the child, assured her he would help her, and escorted her around the complex for a half-hour until they located her family.
“Dylan’s actions reflect the role of the letter carrier in their community as an everyday hero,” said local Customer Services Supervisor Neil Barton.
