Matthew Fee, a carrier technician in Coldwater, MI, was recently delivering mail in an apartment building when he heard an unusual sound coming from one of the units.
Fee knocked on the door and someone faintly replied, “Help me.”
The Postal Service employee alerted a building manager, who opened the door and discovered that the resident had fallen two days earlier, breaking multiple bones.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene to take the woman to a hospital.
“She was very close to death and may not have made it without Matthew’s efforts,” said local Postmaster Tony Timmer.
The woman is recovering from the incident.
