COVID-19 tests

Households eligible to order more free kits

A COVID-19 test kit is prepared at a USPS facility recently.

The federal government has approved a second round of free COVID-19 tests for the public.

As of March 7, addresses that have received four tests already can order four more through covidtests.gov or special.USPS.com/testkits.

The tests also can be ordered by calling 800-232-0233 (TTY 888-720-7489).

The kits are sent through First-Class Package Service, and by Priority Mail to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories and military addresses.

People who request kits can track their package online and receive status updates via the Informed Delivery notification feature.

Earlier this month, the Postal Service announced that it had delivered more than 270 million tests, or 68 million kits, to households across all states, tribes and territories, delivered in an average of 1.2 days from receipt at USPS.
