Retail Associate Jill Miller was recently on duty in Hubbard, IA, when she grew concerned about an older customer at the counter.
The woman asked for help with Priority Mail Express, which was unusual for her, and she revealed that she was sending a check out of state.
Miller advised the customer against mailing the check, telling her it was likely a scam.
The woman decided against sending it, and Miller passed along details of the incident to the Inspection Service.
“Jill’s knowledge of her customers saved this lady from being scammed out of $7,500,” said Erin Silence, the local officer in charge.
