Retail Associate Abbie Campagna was on duty recently in Greendale, WI, when she grew concerned about a 91-year-old customer.
Over the course of a few days, the woman had purchased thousands of dollars’ worth of postal money orders and mailed them to addresses around the country.
Campagna alerted local police and the Postal Inspection Service.
It was determined that the customer was being targeted in a luxury car sweepstakes scam.
“Her family was very thankful that Abbie stopped her from being scammed,” said Greendale Postmaster Lisa Love-Hoffert.
