Perilous plunge

San Antonio Letter Carrier Julio Dominguez

Letter Carrier Julio Dominguez was making deliveries one day last spring at an apartment complex in San Antonio when he spotted something alarming:

An unconscious woman was lying in the fetal position in the middle of a street.

Dominguez hurriedly checked on her, and as she started to come to, he noticed she had a significant head injury.

The Postal Service employee immediately called 911, and another passerby stopped to help him keep the woman calm.

Emergency responders soon arrived, and the woman was rushed to a hospital.

Investigators speculated that she fell from an open fourth-floor window at the complex.

She survived the incident.
