With the 50th anniversary of Postal Reorganization Act, highlighted in the article “On hand for history,” we are reminded that U.S citizens here and abroad rely on us to perform our duty in the manner we have for more than 200 years. No other agency or private company can provide service like postal employees, who take an oath to protect the mail items entrusted to them. Our institution is not obsolete. We are the thread that binds this country and should be treated with respect, not disregard.
