City Carrier Assistant Joey Dupell was delivering mail on a frigid day last winter in Fulton, NY, when he spotted a teenager convulsing in a roadway.
Dupell rushed to aid the teen, whose head was bleeding and who was insufficiently dressed for temperatures below freezing.
The Postal Service employee immediately called 911, rendered first aid, comforted the teen and protected him from traffic until paramedics arrived.
The teenager, who was treated for a drug overdose, recovered from the incident.
