The Postal Service has revealed the first two Bugs Bunny stamp images.
The first stamp, from the classic 1950 short “Rabbit of Seville,” shows Bugs as a barber with a white smock and pointy scissors.
The second stamp shows a jersey-clad Bugs on the brink of a slam dunk in the 1996 basketball flick “Space Jam.”
USPS revealed the images July 17-18 on its social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter. Additional sneak peeks are planned next week.
Both Forever stamps will be part of the 20-stamp Bugs Bunny pane, which will feature 10 designs. Each design will be repeated twice.
The Postal Service and Warner Bros. Consumer Products will dedicate the stamps during a virtual ceremony Monday, July 27, which marks the 80th anniversary of Bugs’ official screen debut.
Each stamp will show Bugs — who has always been known for impeccable impersonations and masterful masquerades — in some of his most memorable getups.
The stamp artwork was created especially for USPS by Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., featuring work from Warner Bros. Animation artists.
Greg Breeding designed the stamps, while William J. Gicker served as art director.
