Rural Carrier Kathryn Lidstrom was recently delivering mail in a Fairfield, MT, neighborhood when she noticed an older customer operating a weed trimmer near an irrigation ditch on his property.
Shortly afterward, the man was nowhere to be seen, which worried Lidstrom.
She stopped to check in the ditch, where she spotted the customer, who had fallen and was stuck with the weed trimmer on top of him.
The Postal Service employee removed the equipment and found no signs of injury.
The man’s grandson soon arrived to provide further assistance.
He and Lidstrom helped the customer get out of the ditch and into his home to rest.
