Rural Carrier Tina Carter was recently delivering mail in Narrows, VA, when a customer expressed concern about a resident who hadn’t been seen in several days.
Carter stopped to check on the man when she got to his home.
She found that he was in dire need of medical attention after falling and sustaining a head injury that left him unable to get up.
The Postal Service employee immediately called 911 and remained on the scene until emergency responders arrived.
Paramedics, who credited Carter with saving the man’s life, took to him a hospital, where he received treatment for several days.
The customer recovered from the incident.
