My name is Mark Roche and I’m a tractor-trailer driver in Milwaukee. I transport mail between Lakeland District postal facilities within the area surrounding the Milwaukee Processing and Distribution Center.
Following the set schedule for each run is of great importance to me. It’s up to me to get the mail delivered on time once it’s ready to leave the processing and distribution center. Also, I pick up and deliver Priority Mail from the Milwaukee Mail Processing Annex in Oak Creek to nearby postal stations, as well as bring mail back to the processing and distribution center.
I have worked for the Postal Service for seven months directly and for 14 years as an outside contractor. Transitioning to working directly for USPS has been a big change for me — for the better.
Before I came to the Postal Service, I was a welder/fabricator at a metal shop for 14 years.
When I’m not working, I like to spend time with my wife of 15 years, Sharolynn. She’s a dog groomer and we have two Dutch shepherds.
I like to ride my Harley, go bowling and do odd jobs around my house. I also go to concerts, take trips to Las Vegas, and spend time with my parents, including playing in cribbage tournaments with my father as my partner.
I take everything I do seriously where my job is involved. I love to be challenged. Whatever comes at me, I’ll do to the best of my abilities to succeed. My goal is to do what’s asked of me and see where it takes me in the future.
