Video highlights Wild and Scenic Rivers pane

A new Postal Service video features highlights from the recent dedication of the Wild and Scenic Rivers stamp pane in Bend, OR.

The 12-pane stamp honors the National Wild and Scenic River System, which was established by a law passed by Congress in 1968 to safeguard certain rivers designated as wild, scenic or recreational.

Tim Palmer, a conservationist and photographer whose images appear on the pane, calls the stamps “a very special gift to the people of America, recognizing rivers in a new and important way.”

The 1-minute video also shows USPS Chief Financial Officer Joe Corbett, who led the ceremony, discussing the Postal Service’s history of celebrating the nation’s heritage through stamps.

“Part of that heritage is the natural beauty of America’s rivers and the many habitats that support wildlife,” he says.
