In her latest “Business Focus” video, Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan discusses the recent peak delivery season and the importance of understanding customers’ expectations and delivering excellent service, in addition to other topics.
Employees processed and delivered almost 16 billion mailpieces during the peak seson, including a record 955 million packages between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
On Dec. 17, the busiest delivery day, employees delivered more than 40 million packages.
“Thank you for delivering for our customers,” Brennan says.
She also discusses the organization’s efforts to consistently meet service standards and customer expectations, citing scanning as an example.
“In order to remain competitive within the marketplace, we need to provide customers with accurate tracking information. This is a basic customer requirement. That’s why it’s so important to have accurate and timely scanning,” Brennan says.
Other topics addressed during the video include employee safety, the price changes that took effect Jan. 27, the quarterly financial results that will be released in February, efforts to drive growth in mail and packages, and the continued need for postal reform legislation and a better pricing system.
The video concludes with a look at recent and upcoming stamp releases, including this year’s Black Heritage stamp, which honors Gregory Hines, and Cactus Flowers and Alabama Statehood, which will be released in February.
“Please tell your family and friends about our 2019 stamp program which celebrates the rich history and diversity of our nation. It promotes our brand and generates revenue,” she says. “It’s good for business.”
