To help employees make smart choices about their health plans and lifestyles, the Hickory, NC, Post Office recently held its first health and wellness fair.
Employees learned about fitness, nutrition, stress management and more. Medical professionals offered free screenings, while local police officers and firefighters provided safety tips.
Additionally, postal representatives were on hand to distribute cooling towels, shoulder straps for mail satchels and more.
“Engaging, interactive events like this are beneficial and motivational,” said Postmaster Dean Fields. “Bringing information to the workplace adds to building a culture that encourages employees to improve and maintain their health.”
Hickory, located about 60 miles north of Charlotte, is part of Capital Metro Area’s Greensboro District, which plans to hold fairs at additional facilities.
The fairs are part of the Postal Service’s broader efforts to engage, equip and empower employees, a core strategy.
