McArthur, CA, Retail Associate Donna Fuentes recently grew concerned about a woman whose mail was piling up in her Post Office Box.
Fuentes knew that the customer picked up mail regularly, so she started asking community members if they had seen the woman lately.
A neighbor offered to check on her, and she was discovered unconscious in her car outside her remotely located home.
The neighbor called 911, and the woman was flown to a hospital nearly 100 miles away for treatment of extreme dehydration and other medical issues.
“Donna’s initiative in pursuing the matter undoubtedly saved the customer’s life,” said local Postmaster Timothy Glaze.
