O Beautiful, a sheet of 20 stamps that feature stunning images that correspond with lyrics to “America the Beautiful,” will be released by the Postal Service this week.
Here’s what the stamps show and the lyrics they represent:
• Spacious skies: Death Valley National Park (California and Nevada), Three Fingers Mountain in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest (Washington), a rainbow over a field (Kansas) and Great Smoky National Park (North Carolina and Tennessee)
• Waves of grain: Three wheat fields (Montana, Washington and Wisconsin) and Grasslands Wildlife Management Area (California)
• Mountain majesties: Yosemite National Park (California), Crater Lake National Park (Oregon), Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park (Arizona and Utah) and White River National Forest (Colorado)
• The fruited plain: A sunrise, Pigeon Point near Pescadero, Edna Valley in San Luis Obispo County and Livermore (all in California)
• Sea to shining sea: Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park (Hawaii), Lone Ranch Beach (Oregon), Canaveral National Seashore (Florida) and Bailey Island (Maine)
Each lyric gets its own row on the stamp sheet, which will be available at Post Offices and usps.com.
The Postal Service will dedicate the stamps Wednesday, July 4, at a summer symphony in Colorado Springs, CO.
Death Valley National Park, located in California and Nevada, appears on the first O Beautiful stamp.
The second stamp features Three Fingers Mountain, located in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington state.
A rainbow over a Kansas field is shown on the third stamp.
An image of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, located in North Carolina and Tennessee, appears on the fourth stamp.
The fifth stamp features a field of wheat in Wisconsin.
Plowed wheat fields in Palouse Hills, WA, are shown on the sixth stamp.
Grasslands Wildlife Management Area, located in California, appears on the seventh stamp.
The eighth stamp shows a field of wheat in Montana.
Yosemite National Park in California appears on the ninth stamp.
The 10th stamp shows Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, located in Arizona and Utah, is shown on the 11th stamp.
The Maroon Bells peaks, part of White River National Forest in Colorado, is on the 12th stamp.
The 13th stamp features a sunrise near Orinda, CA.
Pigeon Point near Pescadero, CA, is showcased on the 14th stamp.
The 15th stamp shows Edna Valley in San Luis Obispo County, CA.
The 16th stamp features a scene from Livermore, CA.
Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park in Kauai, HI, is shown on the 17th stamp.
Lone Ranch Beach, part of the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor in Oregon, is shown on the 18th stamp.
Canaveral National Seashore in Florida is showcased on the 19th stamp.
