Kristopher Skeen, a highway contract route driver, was recently delivering mail on a snowy day in Ripley, WV, when he spotted an older customer in crisis.
The woman was on the ground near her mailbox, so Skeen stopped to check on her and found that she was shivering, wet and in excruciating pain.
Skeen immediately called 911 and took off his coat to cover her, then located an extra one for her in his vehicle as well.
Emergency responders soon arrived to care for the customer, who had fallen two hours earlier and suffered a broken hip.
One of her family members later contacted the local Post Office to thank Skeen, saying that the woman’s core body temperature was critically low by the time he came to her rescue.
