A Chicago retail associate had a nice surprise when she arrived at work recently: Her bosses recognized the 50th year of her postal career.
Louise Woodley reported to work as usual at the Cardiss Collins Post Office, not knowing a ceremony had been planned in her honor.
She was surprised to discover Chicago Postmaster Wanda Prater, Sr. Plant Manager John Colao and Supervisor Cynthia Williams were on hand to recognize her anniversary.
“I have been very privileged to work for 50 years and to have met so many good people along the way,” said Woodley, who was overcome by the surprise.
Her colleagues appreciate that Woodley, who has no immediate plans to retire, is still going strong.
Said Williams: “She knows her job, comes to work and you can depend on her.”
