Letter Carrier Daniel Harness was recently delivering mail on a cold day in Northglenn, CO, when he heard a faint cry for help.
Harness investigated and discovered that an older customer who lives alone had fallen outside her home and had been unable to get anyone’s attention for more than an hour.
The Postal Service employee called 911 and stayed with the woman — who’d suffered a broken leg — until emergency responders arrived.
As paramedics got the customer into the ambulance, she was heard to say, “Thank God for the Post Office.”
