Letter Carrier Donald Pennington was recently delivering mail in a Paris, IL, neighborhood when he heard moaning, and he soon spotted the source: an older man on the ground outside his home.
Pennington rushed to aid the customer, who had just come to after falling on pavement while taking out trash.
The Postal Service employee called 911 for the man, whose head was bleeding, and stayed with him until emergency responders arrived.
Pennington also asked a neighbor to alert the customer’s family.
The man, who was treated for a subdural hematoma, is expected to recover.
