City Carrier Assistant Stephanie Rudasill was recently delivering mail to a residence in Ormond Beach, FL, when she heard two faint but distinct words: “Help me.”
Rudasill knocked on the front door to check on the disabled older customer who lives there, and he urged her to come inside.
The Postal Service employee discovered that the man had fallen out of his wheelchair and couldn’t get up.
Rudasill called 911 and stayed with the customer until emergency responders arrived.
