Hack alert

Beware of fake LiteBlue site

The Postal Service is alerting employees to beware of a fraudulent LiteBlue site that recently appeared on the internet.

LiteBlue is used by employees to enroll in health plans, change their benefits, report unscheduled leave and perform other employment-related activities.

Hackers apparently launched the fake site to steal employees’ information.

USPS has blocked access to the fraudulent site from internal postal computers and mobile devices. However, employees who use external search engines to find LiteBlue from their personal devices could be directed to the fake site.

To access the legitimate version of LiteBlue, type this URL into your address bar: https://liteblue.usps.gov. Make sure the URL begins with https:// and that there is a “lock” icon in the address bar.

All USPS employees should remain vigilant when providing information on any site. Always take steps to ensure the site is valid.

The CyberSafe at USPS sites on Blue and LiteBlue and USPSCyberSafe.com have general guidelines on avoiding online scams.
