Rural Carrier Associate David Hansen was delivering mail recently in Walnut Grove, MN, when he saw a woman fall on a concrete walkway as she exited a residence.
Hansen rushed to assist the woman, who was clutching her arm and clearly in pain.
The woman, who had been visiting the homeowner, asked the Postal Service employee to call her son and her husband, who soon arrived to further assist her.
Hansen also notified the homeowner, who was sure she wouldn’t have heard her friend call out for help.
“Both she and the fall victim were so grateful that David was there,” said local Postmaster Sue Schreier.
The woman who fell is recovering from two arm fractures.
