Ameth Nunez is going the extra mile for his co-workers this summer.
On hot days, Nunez, a custodian at the Woodside Post Office in New York City, provides letter carriers with enough bottles of chilled water to fill a mail tub.
When carriers come in from the heat, they are greeted by Nunez’s hydration station — which is getting lots of activity during this year’s heat waves.
“It makes me happy when they are happy,” Nunez said.
He takes pride in this part of his job because he feels his co-workers are “like a family.”
USPS encourages employees to take precautions during hot weather, including staying hydrated before, during and after work.
