To celebrate the new Disney Villains stamps, “The list” looks at eight other releases that honored the magic of Disney.
1. Walt Disney. A 6-cent stamp issued in 1968 commemorated the cartoonist, film producer and creator of many beloved Disney animated characters and movies.
2. Art of Disney: Friendship. In 2004, USPS issued four stamps that showcased unique friendships, including the camaraderie between Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck.
3. Art of Disney: Celebration. Celebratory scenes of Ariel and Flounder, Mickey Mouse and Pluto, and other characters were featured on four stamps in 2005.
4. Art of Disney: Romance. USPS released stamps in 2006 that celebrated four couples, including Cinderella and Prince Charming, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
5. Art of Disney: Magic. In 2007, four stamps featured the magic of characters such as Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, and Aladdin and Genie.
6. Art of Disney: Imagination. These 2008 releases featured scenes from films such as “Sleeping Beauty” and “The Jungle Book.”
7. Send a Hello. In 2011, USPS issued five stamps with characters from Disney-Pixar Animation Studios movies, including “Toy Story” and “Cars.”
8. Mail a Smile. Five stamps featuring characters from “A Bug’s Life,” “The Incredibles” and other Disney-Pixar films were issued in 2012.
